We have been receiving questions regarding possible charges to credit/debit cards from our church. After much research into the questions, we believe that the charges are not coming from our church. We believe they come from Pepsi Bottling Company (PBC), who opened an office and distribution location here in Smyrna a few months ago. Since we have the same initials and are located in the same town, this is causing confusion.
If you are receiving small charges on your statement ($2.50), please reference the dates to see if they coincide with any purchases you may have made from a vending machine even if the machine was not physically located in Smyrna, TN, the billing center for the machine used may be located in Smyrna.
Other people who’ve questioned the charges had made vending machine purchases on the dates in question, which supports our theory. To be clear, we don’t have proof that our theory is correct, since we have been unable to find the right person at Pepsi Co to confirm our suspicions.
